Celebration of Life 11 am Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Shuswap Community Church in Salmon Arm, BC.

Marguerite, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother left this world to be with her Saviour Jesus on Thursday, September 20th, 2018 at Shuswap Lake General Hospital.

Born in Prud'homme, Saskatchewan on April 1, 1921 Marguerite was the fourth child of eleven born into the Ross family. Her parents Vital and Flora were farmers in Saskatchewan and taught Marguerite the value of hard work.

Marguerite first attended school at seven years of age. Her completion of grade 3 was as far as she went with her school education, at which time her mother grew ill causing Marguerite to leave school to help care for the whole family. She was responsible for washing, cooking, and baking bread from scratch, as many as 22 loaves at a time, 3 times per week. Her first job outside the family home was working on the Benwa farm where she earned 12$ a month. She milked cows, fed the farm animals, worked and weeded the garden, and hand-washed the ten hired hands clothing.

Marguerite married the love of her life, Tony in 1941. During their time together they lived in three different provinces, working for the PFRA, on construction crews, and farming together in Saskatchewan. After selling their farm and retiring they lived in Mundare, Alberta until 1988, after which they followed their daughter, Fay and her family, to Williams Lake, BC. Marguerite also lived in Quesnel, Kamloops and finally the last seven years in Salmon Arm, BC.

Predeceased by her parents, her brothers: Victor, Willie, Wilfred, Roderick, Sam, and George, her sisters: Florence, and Zilda, her husband Tony, and her grandson Darius Engen.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter Fay (Glen), granddaughter Cindy (Al), granddaughter-in-law Erika, great-grandchildren: Austin (Lindsey), Benjamin, Kennedy, Logan, and Kayla. Brother Louis and Sister, Gloria Haynes.
