Born January 3, 1915, Mary Margaret Cameron (nee Sinclair), our mother, passed away peacefully on the evening of October 14, 2010 at Bastion Place, Salmon Arm, BC. Margaret was the third child born to Donald and Isabel Sinclair who were pioneer residents of Salmon Arm. The Sinclairs homesteaded on a large parcel of land adjacent to the Turner Orchards.
A Celebration of life service will be held from the chapel of Bowers Funeral Home, Salmon Arm, on Thursday afternoon, October 21st at 3 p.m. with Jack Bowers the funeral celebrant. Interment will follow in Mt. Ida Cemetery, followed by a reception in the Mountainside room at Bowers.
Margaret is survived and lovingly remembered by her daughters, Margaret of Calgary, Carollyn of Vernon, Gerri (Grant) of Mexico and Lucille (Greg) of Vernon, and by two sons, Don and Ron of Salmon Arm. She is also fondly remembered by sister-in-law, Jean Watson-Sinclair, her nephew, Don Sinclair and niece, Isabel Sinclair, along with grandchildren Michelle, Michael, Cameron, Vicki, Heather, Ian, Katelyn, Carly, Kelly and Chris, and great grandchildren, Aiden and Amy.
Mum was an avid gardener with an amazing green thumb. She and her late partner, Cec Sladen, worked tirelessly in the yard and gardens. Mum was awarded for her tireless work by winning many awards at flower shows and being judged the best yard (garden) by the local horticultural society.
Mum was predeceased by her brothers, George (1943) and Don (Blondie) in 2001.
A big shout out to Cy and his staff at Harmony Haven Adult Daycare for the love and affection shown to mum. Likewise, a very heartful thank you to the staff on “Second Special” at Bastion for their dedication to mum’s well being for the last 6 years. Thank you to Dr. Wood for his care of mum in these final years.
