Maureen “Mo” passed away at Shuswap Lake General Hospital, Salmon Arm, BC on Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at the age of 66 years.

Maureen will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 47 years, Bill; three children, Michelle Grieve (Steve Fleck), Sherene Stacer and Richard Kendall; five grandchildren, Jordan Grieve, Richelle Stacer, Melanie Stacer, Nathan Grieve and Laura Stacer; sister, Lois (Neil) Robertson of Richmond, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Maureen was born in Vancouver, BC on March 6, 1942 and spent her early childhood living in various small communities throughout the province and then settling back in Vancouver for her school years. Maureen married her husband Bill in 1961 and they started their family right away. Maureen and Bill raised their family in Burnaby and then spent a couple of years in Hamilton and then moved back to BC to reside in New Westminster. In 1994 they moved to Salmon Arm to be closer to their children and grandchildren.

While living in Salmon Arm Maureen had been an active volunteer with the Reaching Out Multiple Sclerosis Society and the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She really enjoyed travel and was an avid reader and had a very sharp mind. Maureen’s greatest joy was spending time with her family and those memories will be cherished forever.

A celebration of Maureen’s life will be held from the chapel of Bowers Funeral Home, Salmon Arm, on Thursday, December 18th at 11:00 am with Capreece Bowers officiating.
