On Sunday, February 17, 2008 Mildred (Millie) Todd of Kamloops passed away at the age of 87 years. She is survived by her two daughters Marie (Roger) Zinck of Scotch Creek and Wendy Beatty (George) of Chase, her three sons Bill (Linda) Todd of Kamloops, Gary Todd (Sandy) of Chase and Morris Todd of Scotch Creek; nine grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. She also leaves to cherish her memory, her sister Dorothy Lonsdale and two sisters in law Ruth (George) Galics and Edie Babcock and numerous nephews and nieces. She is predeceased by her parents Frank and Tillie Babcock, husband Earl Todd, granddaughter Lora Zinck, daughter in law Pat Todd, brothers Ed Babcock, Art and Tina Sonne, Wally Babcock and sister Susan Babcock.
Millie was born on June 15, 1920 in Edmonton, Alberta. She spent most of her childhood in the North Thompson area. In 1942 she married Earl Todd and moved to Squam Bay. From Squam Bay they moved to Adams Lake where they raised five children while Earl worked at the Adams Lake Sawmill and Millie cleaned offices.
She also enjoyed writing articles for the Kamloops Sentinel. Millie was active in the Women’s Institute at Adams Lake, was a member of the C.W.L. and the Royal Canadian Ladies Auxiliary in Chase. Millie was an avid cribbage player. After moving to Chase from Adams Lake she took up bowling, and played up to three times a week. We’ll all miss her happy-go-lucky personality and her warm smile.
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. in the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with The Reverend Father Tony Ackerman celebrant. Interment will be held at 4:00 p.m. at Hillside Cemetery, Kamloops.
