Morris Oliver Wright

August 13, 1942 – February 22, 2019
It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband; father, brother, uncle, cousin, grandfather and great grandfather.

Morris is survived by his loving wife Joan of 48 years, his children Jim (Jayna), Kimberley (Steve), Sherri (Rick), Timothy (Christine), Chad (Teresa) and son in-law Troy. His cherished grandchildren, Chantelle, Ayla, Olivia, Jennifer, Jared, Stephanie, Evan, Nicole, Taylor, Benjamin, Madison, Cali-Andrea, River and great granddaughter, Naiya.

He is predeceased by his parents Don and Mary Wright, his brother Everett and most recently his beautiful daughter Shannon.

Morris was born in Salmon Arm and raised in the Silver Creek Valley. He worked as a fabricator at Newnes Machine Shop for thirty six years.

He was a BPOE (Elk) member for many years and enjoyed the comradery throughout the years.

He loved the outdoors and treasured the time spent at the cabin in Canoe for many years and his trips to the Cariboo to quad and spend time in nature. He was a kind, gentle, caring man who loved his family and was surrounded by much joy and happiness in his life.

A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 pm on March 16, 2019 at the First United Church 450 Okanagan Avenue SE, Salmon Arm, B.C.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the ‘Shannon Sharp Learning Circle’ with cheques payable to School District 83 or the GoFundMe account. Cheques or cash are also welcomed at the service, or can be dropped off or mailed to Salmon Arm West Elementary School (4750 – 10th Avenue S.W., Salmon Arm, B.C. V1E 3B5). Receipts will be issued ‘by request’ for donations over $20.
