Muriel A. L. Wood died at Hillside Village, Salmon Arm, on the evening of Friday, October 24, 2008 at the age of 93 years.

A celebration of life service was held from the chapel of Bowers

Funeral Home, Salmon Arm, on Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. with Jack Bowers, Celebrant. Words of remembrance and prayers were shared by family and friends. A reception followed in the Mountainside Room, allowing the family and friends to continue sharing memories.

Cremation with interment to follow at a later date in the family plot at Mt. Ida Cemetery.

Born in Strasbourg, Saskatchewan on September 8, 1915, Muriel had been a resident of Salmon Arm since 1951. She was a longtime Registered Nurse in Salmon Arm, having worked at the old hospital as well as the current hospital. She enjoyed visiting with her former co-workers, sharing many fond memories. Muriel is well remembered for her love of animals.

Predeceased by her husband, Albert Edward (Bert) in 1991, she leaves her loving family; daughters, Marjorie (Jack) Phillips of Edmonton and Betty Wood of Abbotsford; five grandsons, Ron, Edward, Daryl, Brian and Kevin; four great grandchildren, William, Madison, Steele and Robert; sister, Dorothy Connelly of Vernon and brother, William Graves of Washington.
