January 31, 1945 - April 9, 2020
Nora Jean Smith-Pilkonis (née Hayes), passed away peacefully at her home in Enderby, BC on Thursday, April 9th, 2020. She was born in Yelm, WA at the old homestead on January 31st, 1945, to Gano Solomon Hayes and Elizabeth Anne Hayes (née Nasner). She graduated from Yelm High School in 1963, before marrying her first husband (now deceased) Jerald W. Smith of Kellogg, ID. She is survived by her five children Bryan Smith of Mission, BC; Brenda Smith of Golden, BC; Cassandra Stadfeld of Enderby, BC; Mauri Ellingson of Okanogan, WA; Erin Smith of Golden, BC; their spouses and her beloved 13 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Nora most enjoyed spending her time outside nurturing her garden and petting her cats. In winter she'd often be found engrossed in a fictional novel or playing crib and laughing with friends and family.
A Celebration of Life will be held at her home the third weekend in July 2020 (pending the US border being opened). Those who knew her can gather, grieve, love, and laugh at stories of her life...
Interment in the Golden Cemetery will follow at a later date.
