Norman Harrison Morris went to be with his Lord on Saturday June 25, 2016.

Norman is survived by his wife, Violet, children Norman A. Morris, Deanna (David) Metcalfe and Violet”s children, Lavern (Brenda) Qualie, Dwight (Helen) Qualie and Wendy Sobieski, his bother Bob (Doreen) Morris and sister, Marjorie Kimball.  As well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Norman was predeceased by his first wife, Joyce (Fuhr), his parents Arthur and Lenora Morris, and brother Earnest Morris.

Norman was born in Victoria, B.C. in 1935.  In 1945 at ten years old he moved with his family to Winfield, B.C. where the family began an orchard, mink farming and bean production.  As a young man he apprenticed as a sheet metal fabricator and gas fitter at Leslie Seymour and Sons in Vernon, B.C.  Then in 1959, Norman and his first wife Joyce, moved to Salmon Arm and he started his own business, Norman H. Morris Heating and Air Conditioning Ltd. This business continues today as Norman Jr. took ownership in 2011 and Norman Sr. retired. 

In 1975 Norman met and married Violet Qualie who has been at his side for over 40 years until his passing.  Norman was an extremely hard working individual, but he and Violet also enjoyed many wonderful trips in their motor home over the years. He will be appreciated for his dedication, hard work and sense of humour. 

The family would like to thanks Dr. Sawatzky-Martens and the staff at Piccadilly Care Centre for their considerate care of Norman the last couple of months and the staff at Piccadilly Terrace for caring for Violet during Norman’s absence. 

A Celebration of Life service will be held in honour of Norman on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at 11:00 am at Five Corners Church, 3160 10th Ave SE Salmon Arm, B.C.

Arrangements are in the care of Bowers Funeral Home and Crematorium, Salmon Arm.
