The family of Olive Doreen Carmichael wish to announce her passing on November 28, 2009, at the Kamloops Hospice.

Olive was born May, 1921 in London, England. She lived and worked in London where she met and married Chester Carmichael in 1943. Olive immigrated to Canada as a war bride, with their infant son Ian, in 1946. Sons Bruce, Timothy and Kirby were born at North Bay, Ontario where Chester and Olive farmed. The family moved to BC in the late 1950’s, first to the Langley area of the Lower Mainland, then moving to the Kamloops area a few years later. Once settled in Kamloops, Olive enjoyed working at Woodwards store and finally retired to spend time gardening and visiting with family and friends.

Olive will always be remembered for her run/trot mode of travel, and for her generosity to children in the Kamloops area that required extended medical care.

Olive leaves her family to remember many good times. Husband Chester at Ponderosa Care Home, Kamloops, sons Ian (Linda), daughter in law Anne (Bruce, deceased January ’09), Timothy (Margaret) and Kirby (Andrea), 11 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren, the youngest, Neve, arriving Nov., 24, 2009.

No service by Olives’ request. Memorial donations may be made to the Kamloops Hospice Association, 72 Whiteshield Cresc. S., Kamloops, BC, V2E 2S9 or the Canadian Cancer Society, Box 3451, Salmon Arm, BC, V1E 4S2.
