Pat’s family are devastated to announce her sudden passing on July 1st after suffering a stroke at home on June 29 in Salmon Arm, British Columbia, at the age of 74.

Pat was born in Swift Current, Saskatchewan, on May 20, 1942. In 1960, Pat married her high school sweetheart, Lawrence, in Wetaskawin, Alberta. Together they began a grand adventure of 56 years that included raising four children, running a summer resort on the Shuswap for 31 years; and for the last 20 years spending the winter months travelling by RV to Mexico and all points in between making new friends along the way.

Pat was a kind, compassionate, curious, “people person” who collected friends wherever she went; she cherished her connection with family and friends and always went the extra mile to support and foster those relationships.  Her love for her family was boundless.  She loved spending time with her grandchildren and helping whenever she could with her family. She had a busy social life, enjoying dinner and dance parties, going for walks, visiting friends, quilting with the girls on Tuesdays, and having lunch with her friends from Eagle Bay. When travelling to Mexico she was very involved with the orphanage in Bucerias, spreading her love by spending time with the children and helping raise donations.  Pat also worked many years canvassing for the Cancer Society in Eagle Bay.   Her kind, loving and selfless spirit will be missed.

Pat is survived by her loving husband Larry, their children, Lisa (Ray) Morello in Cranbrook, David (Maureen) Moen in Salmon Arm, Kent (Sandy) Moen in Gabriola, and Lori  Moen in Victoria, as well as 7 grandchildren (Adelina, Jordan, Emily, Aaron, Brandon, Cameron and Katie and one great grandchild Jonathan).

A Celebration of Life in Pat’s honor will be held August 20 at Scotch Creek.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Pat’s name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation
