SPOONER, PAUL RAYMOND “POP”

It is with great sadness that the family of Paul Raymond Spooner announce his passing, at the Royal Inland Hospital on November 30, 2011.

Pop has been welcomed into heaven by his mother, father, brother and sister but will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Sandy of 46 years. His children: Craig (Darla), Rebecca (Leo), David (Marcy), Matthew (Jennifer) and his seventeen grandchildren: Samantha, Michaela, Jenna, Corrina, Sheridan, Jeremy, Shanna, Colton, Kendall, Jaclynn, Nathan, Alexander, Antonio, Emma, Raymond, Caden, Carver and his great grand-daughter, Eden.

Pop’s life began in Flint, Michigan on June 17, 1939. He grew up in Otter Lake as the oldest of five children.

After serving in the US Armed Forces and attending College he met Sandy.

In 1971 they packed up their little family and adventured to Turtle Valley where Paul realized his dream of becoming a farmer. Since he found farming didn’t quite pay the bills, he worked as an electrician and started a small family business “Spooner Electric”. His hobbies were chatting on his ham radio by night and gardening and playing baseball by day.

This #1 Coach was a very social member of our community and will be missed by many.

A special thanks to BC Ambulance and the doctors, nurses and staff at Royal Inland Hospital Emergency.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Salvation Army, Box 505, Salmon Arm, V1E 4N6.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Quaaout Lodge on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at 1:00 p.m.
