CHAYKOWSKI-PeterFORWEB

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing away of our beloved Eddy on Thursday, Oct. 29, 2009 after losing his battle with cancer. He was 62 years old.

Eddy was born in Oliver on Dec. 21, 1946. Shortly after, he moved to Tappen with his parents and spent most of his life in the Tappen/Sunnybrae area. He is survived by his sister Lawrencia Clement, his brother Andrew (Margaret) Cloutier and many nieces and nephews.

Eddy was a one of a kind great guy and will be deeply missed by his relatives and many friends. He was a happy go lucky guy with a keen sense of humor always ready with a smile, a joke or willing to give a helping hand. He lived a carefree life, enjoying it to the fullest. In recent years he started spending his summers in Salmon Arm working as a Fire Warden for the forestry and enjoyed spending his winters in Mexico where he was involved with an orphanage and prospecting.

The family expresses thanks to Dr. Breugem and nurses at both the Salmon Arm Hospital and Bastion Place for their loving, kind and compassionate care given to Eddy.

A potluck tea with a celebration of Eddy’s life will be held on Sunday, November 15, 2009 from 3 – 8 p.m. at the Sunnybrae Community Centre.
