December 19, 1955 - March 21, 2019
It is with shock and unmeasurable sadness that we announce the recent passing of Ralph Kenneth Reid.

Ralph, while on vacation with his wife Debbie of 38 years, passed suddenly on March 21st at Ohope, New Zealand from a massive heart attack.

Ralph was a huge part of the soul and character of Salmon Arm; and throughout his short 63 years he became a friend, mentor, coach, developer, and business partner to so many in the community. Ralph was understandably proud of the almost half century of excavation work he accomplished with Garth Jackson through General Assembly Excavating. Ralph loved to cruise the streets with his grandkids and make a point of showing them all the fire hydrants he had installed over the years. He could also often be seen walking his beloved dog Auley down by the Salmon Arm wharf.

Without question Ralph's greatest attribute and contribution was the unparalleled love, appreciation, support, humour, and kindness that he expressed everyday of his life to his family. His family was his life and soul. He will be forever in the hearts of all his family, countless friends, and associates.

Ralph leaves behind his wife Debbie and four sons; Colter (Vanessa) Paetyn, Rowyn, Ryker; Nyle (Sarah) Darren, Callam, Adley, Haylen; Levon (Candice) Carter, Everly; and Dawson. His three sisters; Donna, Arlene (Daryl), and Janice. He also leaves behind countless extended family and close friends. Ralph is predeceased by his parents Ken and Tori Reid.

Ralph loved to say, "there's no crying in baseball" so on that note and in his honour, there will be a Celebration of Life held at the Walters' farm in Notch Hill on April 27, 2019. The Open House will be from 4-7 pm.

"See you in the funny papers."
