Germain Ernest (Red) Robillard passed away peacefully, in the loving

care of his family, at his home in Salmon Arm, BC on Monday morning, November 17, 2008 at the age of 80 years.

A celebration of life service will be held from the chapel of Bowers Funeral Home, Salmon Arm, on the afternoon of Saturday, November 29th at 1:00 p.m. with Jack Bowers the celebrant. Tributes will be shared by family and friends, with a reading by Susan Wells. A reception will follow in the Mountainside Room at Bowers, allowing time for the family and friends to continue celebrating Red’s life.

Born in Jasmin, Saskatchewan on April 17, 1928, Red and Shirley moved to BC in 1955 settling in Clinton where Red worked as a lumber grader. In 1968, they moved to Salmon Arm where he worked at Tappen Valley Timber and then Federated Co-op and Shirley at Shuswap Lake General Hospital. He is well remembered for his love of baseball (Toronto Blue Jays), having played semi-pro in his younger years in Regina and his love of horses.

Predeceased by two daughters, Sherry on May 27, 1973 and Lorrie on August 17, 1973, his father, Fred in 1984 and mother, Marie, in 1989, and sister, Martha Wells, in 2007. Red leaves his loving family, wife, Shirley; daughters, Shelly (Doug) of Grindrod, Janice (Neil) of Edmonton and son, Brent (Colleen) of Richmond; four grandchildren, Jacob and Aspen Marshman, Liam Robillard and Everan Horwood; two great grandchildren, Raya Ladouceur and Rhys Marshman; brothers and sisters, Lawrence Robillard, Irene Robillard, Eleanor Pigeon, Marion Kaytor and Elizabeth Robillard; and many nieces and nephews.
