Born in Edmonton on September 06, 1935. Richard passed away peacefully in his sleep in Salmon Arm on January 06, 2008.

Richard was predeceased by his daughter Deena (Missy) in 1995. Survived by his loving wife Ellen of 46 years, sons Russell (Joann), Ryan (Shevaun), daughter Rebecca Morin, son-in-law Joe (Jennifer), grandchildren Lucinda, Sarah, Michael, John, Emily, Amber, Julia, Samson and Claire. Brother Peter (Betty) of Edmonton, sister Geraldine (Harvey) Miller of Surrey and nieces Susan and Holly, Cathy and Sharon.

Richard spent his childhood in Rossland, then his teen years in Burnaby where he worked at the family supper club, ‘The Gai Paree’. He then embarked on a career in the printing business as well as working as drummer and emcee at the club for more than 25 years. Richard and Ellen semi-retired to Blind Bay in 1995 and ran a closet organizing business right up to his passing.

Richard had a zest for life that was an inspiration to all that knew him and we will miss him dearly as will his special friends Ozzie and Zoe. At his request, there will be no funeral service but a celebration of life will be held in the spring. The family would like to thank the staff at Shuswap Hospital for their care and, all of Richard’s friends for their help and support over the years. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Shuswap Lake Hospital in Salmon Arm.

Thanks Dad, Cheers.
