Robert Arthur (Bob) Stroulger

On October 29, 2007 Bob passed away peacefully in Shuswap Lake General Hospital. Bob was born in Enderby, BC to Lawson and Kate Stroulger. Bob worked on the family farm with his parents, and married Betty Polson in 1945. Bob and Betty remained on the farm until they moved to Kamloops in 1958. They moved to Eagle Bay in 1968 and to Salmon Arm in 1995. Bob will be remembered as a true handyman. He loved fishing, camping and baseball games. He also liked making beer and sharing it with his many friends.

Bob was predeceased by his parents and his sister, Marg. He is survived by Betty, his loving wife of 62 years and three children, Lynn (Gord) Poeter of Edmonton; Gerry of Westbank and Maureen (Jim) McEwan of Lumby. Also surviving are his three grandchildren, Kristen, Brent and Craig Poeter, all of Edmonton. Bob also leaves his sisters Florie Waby and Molly Arnold and his brother Pat along with numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the kind staff at Shuswap Lake General Hospital for their attention to Bob. Thanks are also extended to Dr. Weiker and the home care attendants.

At Bob’s request there will not be any service. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the CT Scan Campaign through the Shuswap Hospital Foundation, Box 265, Salmon Arm, BC, V1E 4N3.
