It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, Bob Mitchell on Monday March 12, 2018 at the age of 78 years.

Bob was born in Vancouver, BC on March 18, 1939 to parents Alex and Laura Mitchell. Bob spent 57 years in Prince Rupert, BC. His childhood consisted of fishing from an early age, enjoying the ocean and exploring the outdoors. Together with all the outdoor activities Bob loved music and was a successful pianist.

Pursuing his love for fishing, Bob started his working career as a commercial fisherman, it was during these early years that Bob met Anne Morris, they were married in 1963. Together Bob and Anne had two sons Rory and Kerry.

Bob and Anne later became Petro-Canada Marine Agents supplying fuel to all the large vessels that entered the Prince Rupert Port, they thoroughly enjoyed working together and were able to build a successful business and established lasting relationships during their working career.

In 1996 Bob and Anne decide to retire, settling in Salmon Arm, BC were Bob continued with enthusiasm his fishing and golf with friends and family, he joined the fishing and golf club. Bob and Anne travelled to Arizona over many winters enjoying their time on the golf courses and with friends.

Bob was a very proud Freemason having exceeded 50 years in the Masonic Lodge, during his years he gained the rank of District Deputy Grand Master as well as Grand Director of Music. He enjoyed visiting the various Lodges in the area continually establishing lifelong fiends and promoting Freemasonry.

Bob was predeceased by his parents, and his son Rory passed away in 2015.

Left to cherish his memory is his family; loving wife of 55 years Anne, son Kerry (Joycelynn) of Prince Rupert, BC, two granddaughters; Chanel (Adam), Chelsea of Prince George, BC, great grandson Anthony, sister Pat (Frank) Herman of Nanoose Bay, BC, together with many extended family and lifelong friends.

A celebration of life service will take place on Wednesday March 28, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Bowers Funeral Chapel, Salmon Arm with Myron Crown officiating. A reception will follow the service allowing family and friends to continue sharing memories.

A service in Prince Rupert, BC will take place at a later date.
