Robert Charles George "Bob" Quinton

December 16, 1957 - October 12, 2019
Peacefully with his family by his side, Bob Quinton Jr. passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at the Shuswap Lake General Hospital.
Bob was born on December 16, 1957 in Kenora, Ontario, and relocated to Salmon Arm in 1981 where he resided until his passing.
Bob enjoyed traveling across Canada with family, visiting each province from BC to Newfoundland. One special highlight for Bob was visiting the birthplace of Stompin Tom Connors at Skinner's Pond. Bob was an avid Stompin Tom fan, attending his first concert at the age of six.
Bob loved music and attended countless country music concerts and military tattoos with his Dad. Bob enjoyed music with Larry and friends and had several CD's of his own music.
In his younger years, Bob was able to successfully navigate the Calgary Go Train on his own and also participated in Special Olympics running in Manitoba. Bob enjoyed driving a tractor on the family farm.
Bob had several work experiences beginning with ARC Industries in Kenora, ON where he made ceramics. Many pieces are still treasured by family members today. Bob worked at the SAACL wood shop for a number of years. For a short time, Bob worked in apartment cleaning and lawn maintenance in Calgary. Bob worked in the dining room at McDonald's in Corner Brook, Newfoundland before returning to his job at the wood shop in Salmon Arm. In recent years, Bob volunteered at the Churches Thrift Shop three days a week.
Bob is survived by his parents, Bob Sr and Marge Quinton, also by five siblings: Barbara Ruotsalainen (Veikko), Brian Quinton (Michelle) Nancy
Senn (John), Leslie Stewart (John), Karen Quinton, as well as 14 nephews and nieces and 13 great nephews and nieces.Bob was predeceased by his grandparents and by good friend Gary.
The family wishes to thank Drs. Chris Weicker and Stephen Hiscock. Also, thanks to the nursing staff at both SLGH and Bastion, especially Laura, Brianna, and Samantha for their love and care. Your kindness will always be remembered.
