In loving memory ~
Ronald "Rosco" Crooks passed away peacefully on November 13, 2024 at the age of 86.
He will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Rhonda (Darren) Hove and grandson Cisko of Vernon, BC. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Joyce in 2009 and his parents Robert & Amy Crooks. Ron is also survived by siblings Karen, Diane, Ed, Joan and Mac all of Ontario.
In his youth, Ron was industrious and resourceful. He delivered groceries by bicycle as a teenager, then worked in a bread factory, drove taxi and operated a crane. Around the age of 25 he made his way from Ontario to British Columbia. He got a job with CP rail that took him all over the province. In 1969 he met and married Joyce, they settled in Canoe and welcomed daughter Rhonda a year later.
Ron enjoyed a long career at Federated Co-op, first as a tugboat operator and then as night watchman prior to his retirement. Ron & Joyce enjoyed many camping trips, combing the beaches of the Shuswap with their metal detectors and bus trips to Wendover & Reno.
Rosco, as he was affectionately known, was a unique character, full of whit and wisdom! His entertaining stories and quick humor left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. He enjoyed life and would often say he was "livin' the dream". He will be dearly missed by his many cherished friends.
