Roy Sharp died unexpectedly at the home he built and loved in Sunnybrae, on May 5, 2017. He was born on May 3, 1942 in Edmonton, AB, the son of Albert Sharp and Edna (Quinnell) Sharp.

Roy spent his career working as a heavy duty mechanic.

He was a long-time member of the Larch Hills Ski Club. He enjoyed all types of skiing: water, cross-country, backcountry, and downhill. He loved his time visiting with family and friends. He was known for his willingness to help others and was a very inventive man.

He married Mitze (Schaafsma) Sharp in November 1976 and had a daughter, Barbara May in 1979.

Roy was predeceased by his wife Mitze (Schaafsma) Sharp in 1983 and sister, Donna May (Sharp) Schwarz in 2013. He is survived by his daughter, Barbara (Etienne Cardinal); his brother-in-law; sister-in-laws; and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Roy’s life will be held at 2pm on Saturday, June 17 at Carlin Hall, 4051 Myers Frontage, Tappen, BC.

In lieu of flowers, the family is suggesting that those who wish to remember Roy in a special way can make a donation to the Larch Hills Nordic Society or the Shuswap Volunteer Search and Rescue.
