It is with great sadness that the family of Roza Lovrek announces her peaceful passing on Sunday evening September 18, 2011 after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.

Born Rozalia Horvath in Molnari, Hungary on October 23, 1929. She is pre-deceased by her husband Frank who passed away in 1988 in Salmon Arm, BC and her brother Stephen in Hungary.

The couple met in Hungary, fleeing the Iron Curtain to the west following the Second World War and Revolution in 1956. Together they settled in Roza’s beloved Salmon Arm in the early 1960’s.

She will be missed by her only daughter Reneta Rothwell and her grand daughters; Kimberly Rothwell and Ceilynn Howse and her cherished 8 month old great grandson; Marshal McKay all whom reside in Calgary, AB. Roza is also survived by grandson-in- laws Jessie McKay and Nathan Howse and Son- in- Laws; Ted Rhodes and Tom Rothwell.

In Hungary is survived by her sisters; Mary, Kathy and Anna and their families.

A Prayer Service was held on Thursday evening September 22, 2011 from St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Salmon Arm, BC at 7:00 pm followed by a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday Morning September 23, 2011 at 10:00 am. A time of fellowship and resfreshments will follow the service in the Parish Hall.
