Ruth Mikkelsen passed away October 5th at Salmon Arm hospital at the age of 84. She was born July 20th, 1927 in Denmark to Niels and Ida Madsen. She had two brothers and two sisters all of whom predeceased her.
Ruth married Asmann Mikkelsen November 2, 1946. They immigrated to Canada in 1951 settling in Cranbrook and later in Kimberley. Asmann passed away in September, 1987.
Ruth will be lovingly remembered by her best friend and spouse Gus Jensen of Sicamous; her children Lindy (Jeanette) Mikkelsen of Cranbrook, Jon (Carol Anne) Mikkelsen of Mackenzie, and Connie (Len) Stang of Montrose; her grandchildren Corinna (Mike) Penner, Christie (Bernie) Kennedy, Sonya (Pete) Loeffler, Michael Mikkelsen, Brenda Stang, and Kris Mikkelsen; and great grandsons Tyler Penner, Brayden Penner, Gavin Kennedy, Sam Kennedy and Samuel Mikkelsen.
There will be no service at Ruth’s request. Those wishing to remember Ruth by donation are asked to do so to any MS Society of BC or to the charity of their choice.
