In loving memory ~
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mom, Ruth Nellemann Keskinen on January 3rd, 2023. She passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones. She was born in Canwood, SK on March 20th, 1939. She was the last surviving daughter of five sisters of George and Mary Petersen.
Ruth resided in Canoe, B.C. since 1968 in the home she loved. Mom enjoyed curling, golfing, ladies' softball, and cross-country skiing in her adult life. She especially loved nature, animals and camping. Ruth played an integral role in forming and being part of the Larch Hills Ski Club. She enjoyed her writing career with the local paper and other publications.
Ruth will be dearly missed by her children, (Lila, Kit, Stig and Rita), their spouses, her grandchildren, her great-grandchildren and her friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at the Canoe Seniors Center from 12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation on Ruth's behalf in lieu of flowers are requested by her family.
