Sandra Lynn Heal (nee Wodinsky) was born on 29th May, 1948 and died on Thursday, 17th October, 2019 due to complications after a long battle with cancer. She was predeceased by her husband, Steve Heal. She will be greatly missed by her children Jennifer (Glen Fraser) and Andrew and her grandchildren Ana and Callum. Sandy was very dedicated to and proud of her children and grandchildren, and was a cherished mother and grandmother.
Sandy was born and raised in Armstrong. In Grade 10 (1965) she started dating Steve, and in 1967 they were married and had their first child. In 1973 the family moved to Salmon Arm, where they lived for over 30 years. Sandy worked for many years at Shuswap Optometric Centre, and has countless fond memories of her work and her work associates, who became good friends. Sandra was a costume expert, as evidenced by many, many theme parties as well as her role as costume mistress for countless theatre productions, most directed by Steve, for Shuswap Theatre and for middle and high schools in Salmon Arm. Sandy's dedication to the arts continued in Qualicum, where she volunteered in different capacities at The Old School House Art Centre.
