Sarah was born Sept. 23, 1924, in Glasgow, Scotland, to Thomas Blair McDougall and Mary Ann Stead. She was predeceased by her parents, sister, Agnes, brothers, Thomas, James (Jim) and David, and daughters, Blair and Gloria.

Sarah was a War Bride. She met her husband to be, Joe (James Laurence) Munro, while he was on leave in Glasgow in 1942. They were married on Oct. 22, 1945 in Glasgow and spent their honeymoon in Loch Lomond. She travelled to Canada on the Queen Mary in 1946 and crossed Canada by train to join Joe in Revelstoke, BC. They made their first home in Taft, BC, where they started their family: Pauline Blair, born 1947, Gloria Mary, born 1949, James Ivan, born 1953, and Angela Marie, born 1962.

After Taft, they moved to Sicamous in 1951 where they lived until their move to Salmon Arm in 2006. Sarah was very active in the Catholic Church and the Catholic Women's League. She was renowned for her flower gardens and spent many hours tending them.

Sarah spent her last years at Mt. Ida Mews where she died peacefully on Jan. 5,2019.

She is survived by her husband, Joe, children, Ivan (Marilyn) and Angela (Ken), son-in-law, Jack (Gloria) Foulkes, grandchildren, Natalie (Allan), Durin, Joel, and Clara, great-grandchildren, Kirsten and Brian, brother, Joseph (in Scotland), and sister, Mary Ann (in Australia), and numerous nephews, nieces, great-nephews, and great-nieces.

The family would like to thank the wonderful and caring staff and volunteers of Mt. Ida Mews for their care of Sarah this past six years.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Sarah on Friday afternoon, Jan. 18, 2019 at 1 pm., at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Salmon Arm, BC with Father George LaGrange the Celebrant. A Reception catered by the CWL to follow. Interment will be at a later date.

Donations may be made to Heart and Stroke or a charity of choice.
