His Brother and sister-in law Kenny and Alita Dufresne and their four children (Cherish, Olivia, Ryelan, and Everett Dufresne) live in Tappen as well. Crystal Arnouse of Tappen and Jeremy Weed of Kelowna are considered by the family to be his sister and brother as well because they were all so close throughout their lives. They loved Shannon very deeply.

Shannon was born on February 26 1972 in Swan River Manitoba . His family moved to Salmon Arm when he was young and he continued to grow up there.  He attended high school at Salmon Arm Senior Secondary.

His children remember him as a father who encouraged them to pursue their goals. They describe him as charismatic and charming with a sharp wit and a loving smile.

A celebration of life is expected to be held on the first anniversary of his death, May 6 2018. A big bonfire is what Shannon would want his friends to gather around and share memories of him and also to meet his family and new granddaughter.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Classic Shuswap Memorial ( For the purchase of Shannon’s headstone) at 1360 20th Avenue SW, Salmon Arm, BC, V1E 1L6
