In Loving Memory ~
It is with tremendous sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Mom, Grandma, Sister, Aunt and Friend on December 26, 2024 in Fernie, BC. Sharon passed away peacefully surrounded by family and so much love after a very short but courageous battle with cancer.
Sharon is survived by her three children Tom (Kelly), Rob (Giselle) and Terri Anne (Clay) as well as her six grandchildren Kevin (Jessy), Reece (Serena), Shaun, Krysha (Noah), Ryan and Stephanie.
Sharon will also be dearly missed by all who knew her, especially her siblings Donna (Gerry), Larry (Sylvie), Colleen, Mike (Marja), Patrick (Lynn), Tim (Theresa), Casey, Heather (Greg), Sheryle (Dennis) and many nieces and nephews.
Sharon was predeceased by her husband and love of her life Ed in 2006, as well as her parents Hilbert and Mary Ellen and siblings Kevin, Terry, Beverly and Bill.
Sharon was born in Renfrew, Ontario on September 1, 1940 to Hilbert and Mary Ellen Enright and was the third oldest of twelve children. Sharon and Ed were married in 1964 in Elliot Lake, Ontario and made their way west in 1966, settling in Fernie in 1968. Sharon worked for the school board at Ridgemont, Isabella Dicken and Fernie Secondary for over 20 years. In retirement, they moved to the Shuswap Lake in 1997.
Sharon loved spending time with her family and friends, skiing, gardening, getaways with the girls (especially wine tours), reading, lunches and coffee gatherings, happy hour and potato chips. Sharon loved curling and continued to play regularly in Salmon Arm until this fall and she especially loved cheering for Team Gushue! Above all was Sharon's commitment to her faith, volunteering at the church and being part of her Catholic congregation.
Mom came back to Fernie for a visit with her children in November and remained in town until her passing. The family would like to express our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Atchinson, Dr. McBeath, the incredible team from Fernie Home Care, the Fernie Hospital, Father Tom and the staff at IGS Pharmacy for your kindness, compassion and assistance in making Mom's final time at home as comfortable as possible.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Fernie Home Health Services or Friends for Friends.
