"Dickie" (Sheila Margaret) Kingston passed away peacefully on November 14, 2017 at the age of 97.

Dickie is survived by her only child Lindsay (Ken) Wood, her two grandchildren Jodi (Torge) Schumann, Hamburg and Christopher (Jamie) Wood, San Diego, three great grandsons Dave and Charlie Wood and Quinn Schumann, also two nieces and two nephews in England and France.

Dickie was born in Gillingham, England September 11, 1920, the youngest of four children.

Dickie was a talented musician and a gifted educator. She spent her life in the quest to help improve the lives of the children she taught, and sharing her gift of music with people of all ages that wanted to enjoy and learn music.

Dickie loved travel part of which brought her to Canada from England to teach in Northern Saskatchewan in the 1950s. Her adventure continued in Surrey BC where she started out teaching Junior High School French and Choir and finished her teaching career as an amazing Primary School teacher.

Dickie spent the last few years of her life at Bastion Place in Salmon Arm. The care and love received there helped her to thrive in her later years and pass in peace and comfort. She had a strong faith and has waited for her time to join her close friends and family on the other side.

There is no service planned, the family will celebrate her life and our love at a time when we can all be together.
