Shirley Mary Elizabeth Scott (nee Butchart), born in Westborne, Manitoba on April 6, 1919, passed away at Bastion Place, Salmon Arm on June 5, 2009, at the age of 90.
Predeceased by her husband, Ivan, father and mother, brothers Bob and Stan and sister, Elsie, Shirley will be missed by her sons, Garth (Judy) Scott of Kitimat and Russ (Dawn) Scott of Salmon Arm, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
At eight years old, Shirley moved to Silver Creek with her brother, Stan, where they were adopted by the Butchart family. She met and married Ivan and settled in the valley where they both worked on their farm. Shirley and her husband were active in the community. She will be remembered for her wonderful sense of humour, her garden and her love of dogs and cats.
A celebration of Shirley’s life will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. from the Chapel of Bowers Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Shirley may be made to the charity of your choice.
