The passing of Stella Agnes Roberts occurred at 10:26 am on Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2010 at the age of 81 in the Shuswap Lake General Hospital in Salmon Arm, BC with her son, Timothy, at her side.
Stella is survived by her son, Timothy (Arduth) Roberts and 3 daughters - Joyce B. Roberts, Colleen (Joe) Sarrazin, and Jenny (Reuben) Isaac, as well as eight grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren. She is also survived by 6 brothers and sisters - Jack Froese, George Froese, Henry (Cathy) Froese, Leona Wilson, Alice Storebo, and Alma Froese, along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Harry Roberts, and prior to that by her parents, John & Katherine Froese, and by two sisters - June Froese & Elsie Froese.
Stella was born on July 17, 1928 in Rosthern, SK where she was raised. She later moved to Saskatoon where she met and married Harry Roberts. In 1963 they moved to BC with the family of four children and resided there until 1988 when she and Harry decided to return to Saskatoon to spend their retirement years. She was predeceased by Harry in 2003, and never seemed to quite get over losing her soul mate of 45 years.
Stella was a woman of strong faith in God which she endeavoured to pass on to her children. She had a vibrant personality, a kind and compassionate heart, seldom ever complained, and was one of the most giving people you could ever meet. She enjoyed music and liked to read. She dearly loved her family, and was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Stella will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved her, but our hearts are comforted in knowing she is with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, and with her beloved husband, Harry.
The Memorial Service and Internment to take place in Saskatoon, SK will be announced at a later date.
