Stephanie Mabel Draper was born August 5, 1933 in Belfast, Northern Ireland and married our dad, Frank Ellix in Calgary on December 17, 1960. She was the proud mum of four children and a G-ma to four grandchildren.
Stephanie was committed to family, friends and community in multiple ways. She touched the hearts and souls of all she came into contact with, both here and abroad.
While mum had many accomplishments she was very proud to be an ordained lay Minister in the Anglican Church in Grande Prairie.
Mum fulfilled her dream of becoming a nurse, taking her training in both England and Scotland, but set aside her career, to raise her family. Many years later she returned to the workforce as a Manager at Canada Mental Health Association.
We would like to recognize and thank Shuswap Lake General Hospital nurses on level 4 and specifically Dr. Weicker and all the staff at Hillside Village Cottage 3, for their ongoing care and compassion and ensuring her passing was as comfortable as possible.
Stephanie passed on June 15, 2018 at Hillside Village at the age of 84 years. Her life is celebrated by her daughter Jane Shirley, her husband Brad and their children Brandon (Rebecca) and Devon; her daughter Ann Lotwin, her husband James; her son Murray Ellix and his daughter Stephanie; her son Arthur, his wife Melissa and son Eric; her sister Joan, her husband Peter and their family, her brother Morris and his wife Pat and their family ; her brother-in-law Troi Caldwell, his partner Shirley and their families.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, June 30th 11:00 am at 1416-16 ST NE SA officiated by Bishop James Cowan.
