Flip was born on February 14, 1932 in Savona, BC to Isabella Murray Browning of Cambuslang, Scotland and Jack McAbee of Walhachin, BC. The youngest daughter of 13 children.
Flip married her first love, Wilfred Calvin Vaughan of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan on June 29,1951.
They raised six children throughout the Fraser Canyon, Kamloops, Burnaby, and Chase, BC
Flip was predeceased by her daughter, Debra Lee Vaughan on April 4th 1968, and her husband Wilfred, on December 15th 1982.
In October 1985 Flip married William (Bill) Holly Watt of Walhachin, BC. Bill predeceased Flip in September 2020, at the age of 100.
She is survived by her children Veronica Ruth Vaughan, Leonard (Leo) Melvin Vaughan (Donna), Jayson Keith Vaughan (Irene) Patti Kim Vaughan, and a foster child Jeanine Sigalet.
Flip is also survived by her grandchildren, Matt and Sam Ross; Amy, Joe, and Calvin Vaughan; Mike and Murray Mackenzie; Angie, and Malcolm Testawits; Winter Peters; David, Sharon, Niel, and Mitchell Toews; as well as Bill's son, Gene (Rose) and their sons Bill, and Kevin, and numerous great grandchildren.
In the summer of 2017, Flip was diagnosed with Alzheimers.
In lieu of flowers or cards the family asks that you pay it forward by doing something kind for someone you know that suffers from this terrible disease.
We are grateful for the loving support from Serenity Acres, Chase, BC, Overlander Residential Care, and Gemstone Care Centre, both of Kamloops, BC. Our thanks to Drakes Funeral Services for their help and support. All were exemplary in their love and care of mom. Thank you all so much.
A family gathering will be held in late spring at her beloved Walhachin.
