Viola "Dolly" Mavis Sjodin passed away on June 16th, 2020 at Shuswap Lake General Hospital at the age of 78.
She was born on May 17th, 1942 in Wetaskiwin, Alberta and was a daughter of the late Vera Michels and Robert Garner.
Dolly will be remembered by her children Gus, Eric, Les, Lissa and Earl, brothers Bob and Wayne and sisters Betty, Dianne and Judy.
She leaves to the future her grandchildren Crystal, Jessica, Dayton, Josh, Eevanne, Jade, Maddy and 11 great-grandchildren.
Dolly was predeceased by her parents, father of her children Walter, sister Joan, son Corie and grandsons Ron and Luke.
She enjoyed baking, Yahtzee, The Price is Right and country music. Many people will remember her avid interest in the boys sports and the enjoyment she got from being the scorekeeper for baseball. The boys loved that she was hell on wheels and wasted no time in getting them to their games.
Her family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Mount Ida Mews for their excellent and loving care of their mother and grandmother. Special thanks to the staff of SLGH for their care and compassion in Dolly's final days.
A Celebration of life service was held from the chapel of Bowers Funeral Home on Monday morning, June 29th at 11 a.m. with Jack Bowers the Celebrant.
