Walter Gerald "Wally" Foskett

Walter Gerald Foskett, “Wally”, passed away peacefully at Hillside Village, Salmon Arm on the morning of May 27, 2009 at the age of 82 years.

Wally was born September 23, 1926 in North Battleford, SK.  As his father was in the Mounted Police, they moved numerous times throughout Saskatchewan.  After a brief service in the army during WWII, he met and married Lou Baptist and started their family.  In 1959, the family moved to Edmonton, AB and then in 1973, to British Columbia, finally settling in Kelowna selling RV’s.  They enjoyed travelling south and into Mexico where they spent many winters.  After being widowed in 1985, he continued to live and work in Kelowna.  Soon after retiring, he moved to Salmon Arm.

Wally was predeceased by his wife, Lou and his sister, Dorothy.  He will be lovingly missed by his son, Jerry (Elaine) Foskett of Salmon Arm and daughter, Gail Orser of Blind Bay, BC; grandchildren, Celeste (Dale) Brodoway of Salmon Arm, Faye (Mike) Gatt of Abbotsford and Wyatt Foskett of Grande Prairie, AB, great grandchildren, Brayden, Ashton and Makaila; sisters, Joan Stubbington of Victoria and Evelyn (Ed) Herman of Campbell River; and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2009 at 1:30 p.m. at the chapel of Bowers Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Wally may be made to the Salvation Army or the Canadian Cancer Society.
