Passed away peacefully on July 2, 2011 at the age of 81 years in Kelowna General Hospital. He will be sadly missed & lovingly remembered by his wife Pat, children Brent (Karen) of Langley, Pamela (Guy) of Kelowna, grandchildren Dan (Karen) of White Rock, Christy of Vancouver, Marc (Penny), Jayson (Cassie) and two wonderful great-grandchildren Kristofer & Skyler all of Kelowna. He was born in Hanna, Alta, the youngest of 6 children and he grew up in and around the Hanna & Jasper areas.  He met his future wife at a party in Oct/47 and they were married that New Years Eve.  He was in the Korean War & after he returned he started working for the C.N.R. They moved around quite a bit, had their two children and eventually moved to B.C. While in B.C. He built a couple of houses and a trailer court and at the age of 40 got his pilot’s licence, “he loved to fly”.  Then back out to Alta where they spent a few great years then back again to B.C. where they finally stayed. He loved to work with his hands and was always outside working & puttering in his garage. He loved to travel and made quite a few trips overseas with his wife and a few trips with his nephew. He took his whole family (wife, children and spouses) on a cruise to Russia, a place he always wanted to go, the last family vacation. He was a lifetime member of the Royal Canadian Legion and a brother of the Mason’s. He will be dearly missed by many. Thanks to all the staff at VGH &. KGH for the excellent care of our husband & father.

A Celebration of life was held at the Senior Hall in Canoe, B.C. on July 9/2011 at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart & Stroke or Canadian Diabetes Foundations would be appreciated.
