November 10, 1941 – March 5, 2019
We regret to announce the sudden passing of Wilfred Blain on March 5, 2019.
Born in Ashcroft, BC on November 10, 1941 he moved to Salmon Arm in 1960 working for various companies in the area, Northern BC and overseas.
Known for his “gift of Gab”, always ready for a cold beer anytime with his buddies living by the motto “it’s 12 0’clock somewhere”. There was nothing he enjoyed more than time with family and friends, especially the grand kids. His hobbies included hunting and fishing, gardening, canning anything that fit in a jar and early morning coffee with buddies.
A local auctioneer, his ultimate favorite times were the yearly variety club auctions that were enjoyed by many.
Wilf is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 56 years Lydia, son Arnie (Annette), grandchildren Dallas (Kate) and Trista (Matt), daughter Debbie (Shane), grandchildren Michael (Marissa) and Amanda, brother Earl (Jeannie), sisters Bernice, Vi (Jim), Shirley (Walter), Barb (Don), Lois (Randy) as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Special thanks to Vince and Tammy Fischer, paramedics, RCMP, Dr. Laurens and Dr. Azad.
