Wilma Esther Abear (Teare-Venables) passed away peacefully in Salmon Arm, BC on March 10, 2008 at the age of 80 years.
A celebration of life service was held from the chapel of Bowers Funeral Home, Salmon Arm, on Saturday afternoon, March 15, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. with Jack Bowers officiating. Tributes were shared by family and friends. A reception followed in the Mountainside room at Bowers.
Born in Vegreville, Alberta on January 10, 1928, Wilma worked as a clerk in a downtown Drug Store in Kamloops prior to moving to the Shuswap many years ago. She resided for years in the Blind Bay area.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Diane; sister Thelma and her second husband Joe Abear. Wilma is survived by her children; Wayne (Vicki) Venables of Kamloops, Greg Venables of Kelowna, Darcy (Helga) Venables of Blind Bay, Zita (Bruce) MacAllum and Cathy (Joe) Blanc both of Victoria and Grant (Kaeo) Venables of Malaysia; 19 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; four brothers, Ralph Teare of Salmon Arm, Ray Teare of Kamloops, Ken Teare of Grand Forks and Clay Teare of San Diego.
