It is still early in the year but it looks like Salmon Arm is going to get a boost in population growth and housing starts for 2016.
Some of the Plan4Prosperity business members are starting to see some younger families moving in from Alberta and the Lower Mainland of B.C.
This has not been seen for a long time but it is good news as younger families are exactly what we need in our area.
Younger families are fuel for the service sector businesses, they strengthen the depth of our labour pool and in most cases they have kids to help fill the seats in our schools.
It is of critical importance that we attract as many younger families here as possible while the window of opportunity is open.
A well targeted marketing plan should be launched to reach out to this group to get them interested in considering moving to Salmon Arm.
There is a saying I have always liked, “some good things come to those who wait, but only those things that were left behind by those who had already reacted”
