The B.C. government is looking at adding 75 new signs to the Stops of Interest inventory, providing an opportunity to highlight other people, places and events.

It is also an opportunity to involve the public in identifying as-yet unsigned sites of significance to celebrate even more of B.C.’s rich history, according to the government’s website.

Salmon Arm currently has one stop, Lake of the Shuswap.

The goal of the website is to provide information and a suggestion form for individuals to submit ideas of landmarks and stories that they think should be recognized for historic or cultural meaning to communities and the province.

Suggestions will be collected from Sept. 26 to Jan. 31 and will be reviewed by senior ministry staff from across government.

Final selections will also be reviewed by cultural and historical experts for accuracy.
