I fluffed up my grey hair and decided to get in a little shopping at Piccadilly. Since I have diabetes II and I’m still recovering from a heart attack, it is necessary to budget my energy output and food intake.
The Piccadilly part went very well and I chose to make a quick trip into Centenoka for a couple items. That’s when things went a little off the rails. The original plan was flawed. I finished up sitting outside on a bench in front of No Frills feeling quite tired and sensing the blood sugar dropping.
Low blood sugar means the brain isn’t functioning at an optimum level. Truly it was time to head home.
I gathered myself together to find my car. I walked the front row of the parking lot. No car!
I sat down again and looked over the lot to the left. Nothing!

There were three young boys zipping up and down on skateboards. I stopped them and offered to give them a buck to find my car. Off they went and toured the whole lot with no luck. They reported back and suggested they look in the back behind the mall.
They asked for the key to see if the key would sing out. I was assured they would not steal my car.
In minutes they returned successful and gleeful. I dug in my purse to pay them but they refused payment. Wow! What a lovely surprise.
I got up to walk back to the car and they insisted on escorting me. I told them their mothers and grandmothers would be proud.
Clearly there are some families doing a tremendous job of raising children. The prospects for the next generation are terrific.
I am very grateful to the boys. Their help meant more than they knew.
