Re proposed development of a walkway on Lakeshore Road:
Consider this alternative to the expensive and difficult proposition of creating a walkway on this narrow and busy stretch of road hovering over the railway tracks. By reducing the speed limit for this dangerous stretch to, say, 30 km/h as in school zones and by enforcing this slower speed, pedestrians who walk on the left and face oncoming traffic, a basic rule taught to every country child, might enjoy their walk. As a taxpayer, I certainly would prefer it, and perhaps even some of the determined speeders driving on Lakeshore Road might adjust happily to a speed zone rather than an increase in their taxes.
