Performance benefits Salmon Arm’s food banks

Through the noble efforts of 24 volunteers and the generous donation made by the people, we were able to raise $800 for the food banks.

The Woody Guthrie Centennial Concert held his last weekend was a great success, not only in the eyes and ears (as it was not amplified) of the many people that attended, but also in the amount of money raised for both the Second Harvest Food Bank and the Salvation Army Food Bank.

Through the noble efforts of 24 volunteers that made up the cast and crew, and the generous donation made by the people attending the concert, we were able to raise $800 for each of the food banks.

I personally want to thank all the people that helped make this dream happen. From the number of people in the audience that were singing along with us, and he excellent feedback we received, I believe that everyone really enjoyed themselves.

There is already talk about a similar type of concert for next year were people can sing along and not even worry about being on key!
