Security excessive

Regarding policing Sturgis North, I have to say that the police force is doing a bit of overkill again. Gang units, outlaw motorcycle gang units, rookies, native police, traffic police, helicopters, etc.

(Salmon Arm Staff Sgt. Kevin) Keane must be proud of the money he is wasting on this one event.  I am sure the Calgary Stampede police costs are comparable. If nothing happens, than he can be proud of what a great job he has done – needed or not. He knows you can not prove a negative. With all the rookies and heavy-handed tactics, he might get his wish and provoke an incident with a biker or two. He might find a helmet without a DOT sticker. Handlebars might be the wrong height. Hey, he might get more money to waste next year.  He must take lessons from neo-Nazi movements of the ’30s on how to control crowds.

This is a laugh. A tax grab with crap tickets and harassment. How hard up for revenue are our city councils and provincial governments?

It is said that the outlaw bikers are only about one per cent. How many of this one per cent were planning to show up at this event?

Welcome to our neighbours from the U.S. who are coming to a peaceful party.

I am embarrassed for the people who put on the event, the people from Salmon Arm and area, and all Canadians on this stupid show of force and waste of money.
