Thieves ready for an opportunity

My wife and I had spent a nice Saturday afternoon with some good friends playing cards and having some laughs

Beware.

My wife and I had spent a nice Saturday afternoon with some good friends playing cards and having some laughs. Our plan for the evening was to have some dinner and attend the Silverbacks game.

We left our friend’s house in separate vehicles and were planning on meeting at the arena. We arrived at the arena and when my wife was exiting our vehicle the door had gotten away on her and slammed shut, locking her purse in the car. My wife waited by the car while I attempted to secure two more game tickets as our tickets were in her purse.

We entered the arena and I asked my friend if he would give me a ride home to get a spare set of keys. When we arrived back to our vehicle the side window had been smashed and my wife’s purse had been stolen. We were away from the vehicle no longer than 15 minutes.

Living in a relatively small town like Salmon Arm, I was possibly a bit naive to think that I could leave our vehicle for that short period of time and expect it to be untouched. I was obviously wrong.

It would seem there are dishonest people lurking in the parking lot waiting for an opportunity like ours.

I am writing this letter to make people aware that these thing happen in our community and to be aware of your surroundings and report any suspicious activity. If you happen to find my wife’s purse, please turn it in to the RCMP.
