16th Annual Salmon Arm Kids Fishing Derby

The 16th Annual Salmon Arm Kids Fishing Derby was held Sunday, June 17 on the docks at the wharf at Marine Park.

Even the weather co-operated.

The rain held off Sunday morning during the 2012 Salmon Arm Kids Fishing Derby held at the wharf at Marine Park.

Roughly 600 eager anglers turned up for the annual Father’s Day event. About 400 coarse fish were caught, most of them released back into the lake.

Along with lots of spot prizes, winners of various categories were:

• First fish – Jenna Rae Pieper

• Most fish – Mason Buzzell

• Largest Fish – Nicole Andrews

• 2nd Largest Fish – Dawson Enright

• 3rd Largest Fish – Logan Ferguson

• Hidden Weight – Andrea Penner and Carson Venna.
