Young people in Salmon Arm  put their bodies to the test in the ninth annual 2011 Salmon Arm Try-A-Tri Kids Triathlon.

About 45 entrants from as far away as Keremeos, Kamloops, Penticton and Kelowna gathered at the starting point, SASCU  Recreation Centre in Salmon Arm Sunday to swim, cycle and run.

Salmon Arm athletes did well, with several placing in the top three in their category. In the seven-and-under boys: Connor Levins placed first, Rowan Trow second and Eric Moore, third.

In the seven-and- under girls, Julianne Moore took first, Melissa Vandervoort second and Hallie Parenteau third.

In eight/nine boys, Stephen Moore placed first, Jamie Trow was second and Calvin Hepburn third.

In eight/nine girls, Keeya Corbett was second and Nina McKee was third.

In the 10/11 girls  category, Aria Izik-Dzurko placed third.

In the 12/13 boys, Matt Cooper took second and Jaeden Izik-Dzurko third.
