A Salmon Arm resident is returning home from the World Senior Master Middleweight Championship in Kansas as the reigning champion.

A Salmon Arm resident is returning home from the World Senior Master Middleweight Championship in Kansas as the reigning champion for the second year in a row.

Mickey Sims boxed his way to the final round, ultimately setting him up to share the ring with Mark Colbert, an Iowa City competitor.

Sims, at 5’6”, describes Colbert as 6’3” with a reach advantage.

Colbert was given an eight count by referees and Sims was able to keep him on his toes for the next two rounds, ultimately earning him the championship belt once again.
