The Larch Hills Nordic Club earned top spot for most points accumulated for the Okanagan Cup events over the season with some excellent results at the final Teck Okanagan Cup Race at Nickel Plate Nordic Centre on Feb. 2.

Racers of all ages and ski ability from the Thompson/Okanagan attended to compete for individual medals and points for their club.

Club points are accumulated for each race in the Okanagan Cup series and an award is given to the club with the most points at the end of the final race. Points are earned for top-five finishers in each race and for participation.

Ian Van Bergeyk won first in the 1-kilometre Atom boys 3 category, with Benjamin Milne placing third. Eric Moore placed second in the in the 2-km Peewee boys category 1 and Hillary Vukadinovic placed third on the girls side. Her older sister, Samantha Vukadinovic, placed first in the 2-km Peewee girls 2 category.

Calvin Hepburn placed first in the 2-km Bantam boys 2 category, and in category 1, Trond May placed first.

Julianne Moore, Claire Van Bergeyk and Sophia Van Varseveld swept to first, second and third-place victories in the 3-km Bantam girls 1 category. For category 2, Maggie Beckner, Keeya Corbett and Avery Hanson also placed first, second and third.

In the Midget boys 3-km, Konrad Van Varseveld came first for category 2.

In the Juvenile boys 5-km race for category 2, Andrew Nash skied to first and Seth Van Varseveld came second.

In the Juvenile girls category 1 race, Rachel May placed first.

For the Junior boys 5-km race, second place went to Alexander Corbett.

The first place finisher for the Junior girls event was Gina Cinelli.

In the Masters men category 40-49, Brian May placed first in the 15-km race, and Abbigail May placed first in the women’s category, with Laura Hepburn placing second.

For the Masters women 50-59 category, Debbie Phillips earned a second-place finish.
