Shuswap Outlaws’ Sean Freed takes a shot on a breakaway opportunity during a game against the North Okanagan Legends at the Shaw Centre on Saturday

The Shuswap midget Outlaws started a busy weekend of lacrosse out the right way on Friday evening with a 6-1 win against North Okanagan.

The bantam team played two nail biting, games starting with a home game on Saturday that ended in a 5-5 tie with a buzzer beating goal from the Penticton team. On Sunday they played against Kamloops 3, bringing home a 5-4 win.

The peewee advanced team had three games this weekend.  Their first game ended in a loss to North Okanagan 7-6 on a last minute goal. The peewees then defeated their rivals 9-5 in the second game, grabbing their first win in the process. On Sunday they played at home again, but lost 8-4 to Kamloops.

The peewee development team lost a close game 10-7 to North Okanagan.

The novice side also played games at home over the weekend hosting Kelowna and Kamloops.

Next weekend the teams will have a much deserved break for the long weekend, except for the midget team. Over the May long weekend, the Lawrence Halvorson Memorial Midget Tournament will run at the Shaw Centre.
