Salmon Arm Aces aces playoffs

U19 girls baseball team to take on rest of province in Sooke on Vancouver Island from July 5 to 8.

The Salmon Arm Aces U19 girls team is off to Sooke on Vancouver Island from July 5 to 8 for the Provincal Championships.

The girls won the District 9 playoffs in Vernon on June 23 and 24 over Summerland,  last year’s provincial finalist from District 9.

The game was a tight contest, ending in a score of 15-4.

Bill Coldwell is the head coach, with assistants Loui Chouinard and Brian Loucks.

Team members are: Brit Chouinard, Tamara Goodridge, Cass Loucks, Donnane Cline, Kristin Sherlock, Kristen Houseman, Carlee DeBoer, Shyla Gibb, Mel Darbyshire, Anna Young, Bradi Ready, Alley Bihari,  Chanelle Lawson  and Emily Ferguson.

Because of a shortage of time before the Provincials, the team is holding a progressive 50/50 draw with a maximum prize of $5,000 to be drawn July 2.

Tickets are available from team members, the Royal Canadaian Legion Branch #62, or by calling Diana Goodridge at 250-833-2671.
